£39,000-£40,000 + Bonus scheme paid on performance to a maximum of £5000 p/a paid quarterly based on performance up to a maximum of £ 1250.00 per quarter

Monday to Friday 7.30 through to 5.00 pm

Company Vehicle provided including fuel. this will be van based not car

Our client is looking for an experienced Workshop Controller with experience working within a Commercial Truck Dealership essential
Good level of industry knowledge / awareness with experience of diagnostic equipment with experience gained as a fully qualified technician coupled with experience of meeting demanding targets and deadlines


A full driving licence is also essential for our client a very busy Workshop near reading. As an experienced and enthusiastic Workshop Controller /Workshop Supervisor you will be required to run a busy workshop and must therefore have the ability to run a busy workshop and to delegate workloads to technicians and demonstrate drive and ambition whilst thinking on your feet!!!

Prioritising workshop workloads across different shifts,

Managing ATF test lane, managing tool calibrations,

Managing workshop equipment repairs

Updating customers on workshop repair progress through the day

A very demanding role but may suit a technician wishing to move off of the workshop

You must be very well organised with strong time-management skills, motivated and target driven. You will be a great communicator and with excellent customer service.

As a Motor Trade Workshop Controller you will supervise and co-ordinate Vehicle technicians, providing service and repair facilities, ensuring that the service is delivered in a safe, cost effective and technically compliant manner to the standards required by various legal and safety requirements.

  • You will be responsible supervising the workshop and technicians to ensure labour and material consumption is optimised.

  • Prioritising vehicles and maintenance ensuring completion in accordance with procedures in operation and to the standard and quality required.

  • Ensuring warranty claims are identified for recovery from manufacturers and rechargeable damage is identified and authorised.

  • You will plan, schedule and progress work to ensure optimised use of labour and cost effective use of materials and equipment.

  • Minimise downtime of vehicles maintained, observing and minimising penalties associated with vehicle availability.

  • Ensure recharge repairs are approved where necessary and that repairs meet the requirements.

Workshop Control Essential requirements

  • You'll need to hold a BTEC, ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Engineering.

  • Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Good level of industry knowledge / awareness

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of diagnostic equipment.

  • Proven experience in a Motor Vehicle technician role, with experience gained as a fully qualified technician.

  • Experience of meeting demanding targets and deadlines

  • Full driving licence
