We are looking for a Transport Planner for a successful client based in the Dover area. Must have proven ability within a transport environment, preferably in the freight forwarding sector. Previous experience of working within a transport environment. A proactive approach with experience of working within a team environment, be hard working and diligent. Oversee the running of and drive growth in our French Road Freight Operation. Building relationships with new and existing clients and key suppliers for this lane. Duties * French trailer / load planner. * Receive jobs across from The Traffic Planner in order to plan the transport accordingly. * Advising the suppliers of the collection / pick up details. * Negotiating prices with hauliers. * Booking the deliveries into the respective destinations. * Updating client spread sheets in lieu of T&T systems. * Raising jobs and assisting admin as required. * Assist in the cover of the various operational desk when required, holiday / absence etc. * Monitoring deliveries ensuring we are on time and advising clients of any delays etc. * Liaise with third party transport suppliers ensuring timely status information is entered * Logging and co-ordinating responses to invoice queries. This is a permanent role, 37 � hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 17.30.
