Trainee Design Engineer

Based in Wellington, Somerset

My client is a leading name in the Waste and Recycling sector. They believe in cultivating both personal and company growth and work to maintain an excellent business reputation in an ever evolving industry. The innovations team design and manufacture our pioneering Bio-Processor's in-house as well as bespoke equipment for their customers.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join our Design Team. You will be working in a small team so must be self-motivated with a can-do attitude.

Previous experience of using Solidworks is desired. Full induction and internal training will be given.

Job Role

We have created a fantastic opportunity for you to join our growing design team based in Wellington to perform Computer Aided Design (CAD). You will be required to create drawings to accurately position recycling machinery. Other duties will include producing technical data for Bio-Processors manufacturing and relevant administrative duties.

You're responsibilities will include;

• Producing sales drawings

• Producing full renders of waste processing systems

• Leasing with structural engineers to design structural steelwork

• Producing fabrication drawings and manufacturing packs

• Liaising with the fabricators during the fabrication process

• Producing setting out drawings for the on-site installation team

As an ideal candidate you will need to be computer literate and technically minded, with the desire to learn, achieve, and succeed, coupled with energy and enthusiasm and a genuine interest in technical design. You will already have some experience of working with Computer Aided Design, however, they estimate a 2-year training period and during this time, they will fully invest in relevant training and development for you to become a fully trained Design Engineer.

This would suit someone who has recently finished a relevant qualification/degree, or someone with some level of experience in 3D design.

This is an office-based role so you will need to live within a commutable distance to Wellington.

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 Per Annum (dependent on experience)
