HRGO are currently recruiting for a Tool Maker to support our manufacturing client in Hythe, Kent. The Tool room is focused on the scheduling and efficient manufacture and on time delivery of products to meet both internal and external customer needs.
The Tool Maker is responsible for the repair and modification of tooling. Must ensure that all work carried out is of good quality and meets the needs of both design and production in its functionality. Will also be required to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge gained from the history of past problems and tool repairs. Must ensure that all work schedules and work completed are done in order to satisfy customer demands whilst enabling the delivery of high-quality components.
Main responsibilities
Manufacture of new tooling
To carry out tool repairs as required
To modify tool repairs in accordance with design and customer requirements
To assist in continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
To ensure serviceability and safety of all equipment and machines used within the section
Assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required
To ensure that you are working to the correct methods
The successful applicant will need to have good communicational / organisational skills and good attention to detail.
Key skills will be to repair, manufacture and modify tooling, jigs and fixtures.
This is a standard 39-hour week, Mon-Thu 8-5, Fri 8-1.
