TEMPORARY COOK Aim: To prepare and cook a range of: * Hot meals including breakfasts and lunches within a given budget as set by the Management Team for Clients, staff and volunteers. * A range of scones, cakes and pastries for sale in the snack bar Skills required: * Attention to Detail. * Business Sense. * Cleanliness. * Creativity. * Culinary Expertise. Duties * Undertake food preparation, cooking, portioning and serving of meals * Delegate a range of tasks to the assistant cook with the kitchen * Monitor the suitability of all catering equipment, machinery, pots/pans, utensils, and crockery and to report defects immediately to the Day Centre Manager. * Maintain cleanliness within the kitchen including all appliances. * Liaise with the centre staff on the number of meals required daily. * Keep waste materials to a minimum at the same time ensuring quality is maintained. * Comply at all times with all current Health & Safety Regulations * Ensure security of all catering stocks and equipment at all times and that the kitchen and stockrooms are left in a safe and secure condition at the end of each day. * Stock ordering and menu planning is the responsibility of the Catering Team Leader. * Record keeping as per Environmental Health regulations. * Hours 7am to 2pm If you are interested in the role, please send your CV to fiona.kundu@hrgo.co.uk
