Engineering technicians job opportunity within this successful Aircraft MRO /workshop facility at Southend Airport. Working within the safety workshop, the Shop Technician (Aviation) will play a key role in the packing and testing of aircraft emergency evacuation slides, ensuring they comply to all safety and quality requirements. The responsibilities of the Safety Shop Technician include, but aren't limited to: * Surveying, testing and packing the emergency evacuation slides, referring to the manufacturer's instructions and manuals. * Maintaining a safe and legally compliant working environment. * Preparing workshop and material reports to aid the purchasing and commercial departments. * Ensuring that all procedures and quality standards are understood and adhered to. * Undertaking risk assessments. * Understanding what the customer's needs are, so they can be met and exceeded. Ideally you will have experience and understanding of the aircraft maintenance and repair environment through working within aviation maintenance. Knowledge of EASA Pt 145 regulations would be a distinct advantage. In addition, a strong understanding of MS Office is required. You will have outstanding organisation and forward-planning skills, alongside being a team-player and a high attention to detail. This is a permanent role.
