The company is experiencing rapid growth and seeks to further strengthen its sales capability. This is a critical role in the emerging organisation. The job purpose is to help maximise opportunities to sell its services profitably and to convert those opportunities to firm orders.
The job holder will be based in our new HQ in Yeovil and will be in constant touch with members of the companies sales and operations teams as well as with customers and other market contacts.
Managing the full sales cycle from start to finish, the Sales Support Specialist will co-ordinate and progress all sales opportunities and quotations - working closely with the Head of Sales & Marketing (HoSM) .
With appropriate training there is an opportunity for the job holder to become involved in sales demonstration events and trade shows.
There will be a tiny bit of travel- maybe a few times a year
Ideal candidate will have an engineering, technical or practical background as well as sales experience
Measures of Success
Conversion rate from enquiries to firm orders
Produce accurate weekly sales forecasts, to be reviewed by the HoSM
Ability to grasp the technical and operational environment in which the company operates
Customer feedback that enquiries are being promptly and effectively replied to
Positive feedback from the sales and operations teams - they feel well supported
HoSM feels well supported
Position in the Organisation
The Sales Support Specialist reports to the Head of Sales and Marketing (HoSM).
Accountability
Quote and follow up all enquiries; manage sales forecast, and report weekly.
Organise and attend exhibitions and trade shows.
Conduct equipment demonstrations (after training).
Use of time (Assuming 220 working days in the year i.e., 55 days per quarter )
60% Sales quoting and follow up (33 days/quarter)
26% Manage & report all sales (14 days/quarter)
10% Marketing and social media (6 days/quarter)
4% Contract review meetings (2 days/quarter)
About the company
They provide underwater inspection equipment and services to customers around the world. They are growing fast, having doubled turnover last year (to £7M), and have recently had teams working in 4 continents around the world.
Later this year we shall be moving into a brand-new industrial unit
The job is based at their Yeovil offices and will involve occasional overnight stays to attend trade shows, or client meetings. The position reports to the MD
Salary £30K-£40K, depending on experience
Annual paid Holiday 20 days.
37.5 hours per week (finish at 15:30 on a Friday)
On completion of probation, 5% contribution to pension from the company + WPA Cash Plan.
We are looking to appoint someone for this position by mid-September.
