Job Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

HRGO Education Kent are in search of an experienced Teaching Assistant that can inspire pupils with SEMH.

HRGO Kent are recruiting for a SEMH school based in Ashford, Kent. They are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting primary and secondary aged pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviours. This role is initially a temporary role, Monday to Friday 8.30-3.30.

The school are well resourced to support the additional needs of their young people. The school supports both their young people's learning and social development.

The Learning Support role:

• Supporting teachers with their learning objectives and classroom management.
• Working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils in the classroom and pastorally.
• Being a positive role model and establishing positive relationships with pupils and helping to develop their social skills.
• Working well with other members of school staff to provide a stimulating learning environment.
• School has use of a Forest School for nurture and pastoral care

What you will need:

• Previous SEMH classroom or SEMH outreach experience
• A desire to learn new SEMH teaching strategies and skills to best support students.
• Be able to comfortably work 1:1 and with small groups of children and young adults
• Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour.
• Enhanced DBS or one in progress (we can organise this for you)
