Student Fees Officer (Finance) - Newton Park, Bath

Fixed Term Contract to 07.08.2023 (12 months)

Shifts: 37.5 hrs - Monday to Friday (occasional weekend working will be required)

Job responsibilities:

Assist with student and external customer invoicing, account and debt management for the university.

Main duties and accountability:

• Assist with student, sponsor, Student Loans and external customer invoicing.
• Assist with the maintenance of the student and Student Loans Company customer accounts
• Support students with any tuition fee assessment queries
• Assist with month-end

Essential Criteria:

• GCSE Maths and English grade C or above or NVQ2 equivalent
• Experience of working within a financial operations environment
• Knowledge of account management and credit control
• IT skills including Google Chrome, Word and Excel

Desirable:

• AAT qualification (or working towards)
• Experience of accounting and using bespoke finance systems and databases
• Working in a large, complex organisation
• Experience of working within a debt management environment and reporting on statistical information

Skills and Knowledge:

• Good negotiation and problem solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of basic accounting principles including ability to analyse and understand accounting processes
