Job Purpose and Reporting
The Stores Operative's overall purpose is to ensure safe and efficient receipt and storage of goods into the business. It is a key position which feeds into the business operations and customer demand.
The Stores Operative reports to the Stores Process Leader.
Note: This job description may develop and evolve with the business.
The post-holder is expected to carry out the following responsibilities in a proactive manner and to a high standard.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Picking components to a high level of accuracy
Completing requests for parts to meet other department demands
Greeting delivery drivers and booking in goods
Cycle counting to ensure stock in correct locations with correct quantities
Assisting with stores admin duties.
Stock and quality control of products
General housekeeping
Involvement in departmental improvement projects
Person Specification
Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
Experience working within an ERP system
Reasonable standard of computer literacy
Good standard of literacy and numeracy
Forklift licence (desirable)
Skills and Abilities
Organised and skilled in administration tasks
Good communication skills with all levels of staff
Methodical approach to tasks
Good use of initiative
Ability to cope with pressure situations and prioritise work
Ability to cope with minimal supervision
