Position: Shift Team Leader

Location: Wrexham

Hours: 7-7 2 days 2 nights 4 on 4 off

Salary Up to £25,000p/a DOE

I am currently recruiting an experienced Shift Leader to work for a growing manufacturing company in Wrexham, previous knowledge of blow moulding would be an advantage.

Duties

• Ensure safe working conditions and practices including PPE checks.
• Ensure and strive to improve 5S compliance within the production environment.
• Provide strong communication links between the Production Manager and the members of the shift through shift start and end meetings.
• To respond & escalate immediately any process issues that impact production, e.g., machine alarms, component feed fail, etc.
• To manage & maintain component feed to the machines, resolving any problems encountered.
• Understand relevant KPI's. Use them to drive and motivate the team towards achieving and beating production targets.
• Ensure that operators are all fully trained, and each has the skills to perform all other roles within the cell.
• Support any implementation of potential process improvements with a drive to succeed.
• To plan and organise the team's activities on a day-to-day basis in order to ensure that work is prioritised.
• Provide absence/break cover.
• Complete shift report and handover on a daily basis.
• Check quality and conformity of the processes according to quality requirements and procedures.
• Ensure production declaration is accurate.
• Inform Production Manager of quality issues.
• Help with containment and resolution actions.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous shift leader experience.
• Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Blow Moulding experience (Process experience desirable)
• FLT experience (Desirable)
• Good computer knowledge/ Flexible attitude
• Knowledge of quality systems and best practices
