Our client is recruiting for a Manufacturing Shift Manager. The shift managers comprise of a team of 4 - split between the four different shift patterns that operate on either the day shift 6:00am-18:00pm or the night shift 18:00pm-6:00pm. This role works a 12 hour shift pattern rotating days and nights of 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off (6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business. The key duties for this role include: Managing a Production team operating fast paced and technological manufacturing lines to achieve the best cost, correct standard quality and targeted efficiency. Coaching and mentoring the production workforce to develop their competencies to meet the requirements of the manufacturing technology. Participating in and/or leading continuous improvement projects. Responsibility for control of labour and managing overhead costs to meet business needs. Leading by example in Health and Safety, GMP, company competencies and production standards . Key contact between Production and both internal/external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have: Extensive experience of leading a team within a manufacturing environment. Good knowledge of robotics and automated manufacturing technology, including fault finding and problem solving. Excellent communication skills, able to relay information to colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
