Job Specification POSITION: Shift Manager LOCATION: Wrexham HOURS: 2 days 2 night's 4 off SALARY: £NEG DOE REF: VR/00731/1 Our client is seeking a positive and confident character, with natural leadership abilities. Communication skills are essential, as responsibilities will include working with various departments within the business, plus aiding employees in all aspects of the working environment. Previous experience in a management role would be an advantage, but full training will be given in accordance with Company guidelines. Job specification: * As the Shift Manager you will promote ownership and show personal commitment to Health & Safety and Environmental controls: drive improvements across the site ensuring compliance with all Company and Statutory standards, accident investigation and incident reporting to a high standard (proactive rather than reactive). * One of the key aspects of the Shift Manager role is that you will have responsibility for continually improving and streamlining the manufacturing process and improving efficiencies on all bottleneck machines, thereby promoting a Lean culture across both sites. * You will drive quality standards across the shift; take ownership for compliance to the standards, improve performance against quality targets through aligned and planned activity and production support therefore improving and promoting a Right First-Time ethos. * Excellent communication and influencing abilities are essential to develop and sustain robust relationships. * Be adept at identifying training needs for your team across the shift to ensure flexibility. * To be always audit ready and ensure all aspects of traceability throughout the shop floor processes are adhered to. * Keep the site clean and tidy in line with Senior Management expectations - promoting a clean, tidy & organised 5S culture. * On time and accurate reporting of Production figures. * Update the continual Customer Order Schedule (production program) in accordance with job completion and ensure all relevant departments receive a copy. N.B. a close working relationship with the Planning Department/Supply Chain is essential. * Skills in investigating and escalating disciplinary issues to a higher level when and where appropriate. * Conduct the relevant disciplinary actions, up to an agreed level. * No authorisation to hire or dismiss employees. * Keep records of all employee's absenteeism/discipline up to date. * Guide the shift towards goals; ensure all employees are productive and resolve any problems as they arise. * To identify engineering problems and delegate to relevant personnel. * Throughout the shift check all customer requirements are running to the Customer Order Schedule (production program); where anomalies occur communicate to the relevant department the reason why (e.g. quality failure, engineering failure, etc.), then if required decide based on the findings on what is required to ensure the production output continues. * Ensure all the daily loading requirements are complete to the daily loading sheet provided by the Supply Chain department.
