Job Tittle: Senior Sous Chef

Salary: 34k-40k

Hours: 48 hours a week (2 days off every week) / Hours are between 9:30am-3:15pm and/or 5:30pm-9:15pm

HR GO Recruitment are looking for someone to join our clients friendly and buzz filled team. You will be working in a beautiful, cosy country restaurant which is a privately owned, family run business. A 150 cover bar & restaurant situated in Mid-Sussex, close to Haywards Heath & Burgess Hill.

Responsibilities:

• Checking the cleanliness, organisation and standards within the kitchen
• Assisting the brigade in the smooth, safe and efficient running of the kitchen operation
• Running the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
• Ensuring all Health & Safety is up to date & complied with
• To assist the Head Chef in the training and career development of the team
• Keeping an eye on food waste to help ensure it is as little as possible
• To assist the Head Chef in ensuring GP's & targets are meet and maintained
• Responsible for the day to day running of any given section
• Demonstrating a committed approach to the development of creative menus and service in the kitchen
• Ensuring the quality of food is of the exceptional standard expected
• Be aware of health and safety and hygiene regulations
• Ordering on a daily basis, whilst keeping in mind stock usage, menu planning and business levels

• Has innovation, creativity and attention to detail
• Relishes in the pressure of a kitchen environment
• Has a background in Gastro pubs or hotels
• Ideally has their own transport
• Is used to working with fresh ingredients and places heavy emphasis on quality and consistency
• Has a good understanding of health & safety and food safety guidelines within the kitchen
