Senior Press Officer

Rate: £22.50 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Press Officer to join our clients dynamic team in King Cross and help drive this narrative. This position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in External Affairs and Communications and gain industry-leading experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.

What will you be doing?

Work with the Head of External Communications to develop media plans and campaigns

Lead contact for proactive approaches and reactive responses to media enquiries from national press

Work closely with the management board to build the company profile for our key sectors

Use social media planning software to create fully integrated visual communications and social media content

Build and grow relationships with influencers across all channels

Build and train our spokespeople to best represent the company brand and ensure they are fully briefed and debriefed before any interviews

Lead creative pitches across media channel and work with design teams where needed

What are we looking for?

Strong organisational skills and understanding of digital and print media

Proven record of achievement in the publicity, media and/or public relations and journalistic spheres, both in terms of creativity and issue management.

A passion for and strong understanding of the digital, social media and technology arenas, including industry opportunities and competitors.

Strong editorial contacts across all spectrums of the British media digital/social media.

Excellent news sense with ability to write crisp, clear and lively press releases and copy, which stimulates both press and public interest.

A good working knowledge and use of social media for promoting content and news stories

Strong interpersonal skills to establish credibility with senior managers, journalists and opinion formers, and influence the perception of our digital communications.
