POSITION: Senior Buyer

LOCATION: Wirral

HOURS: Monday - Friday

SALARY: £30,000p/a - £40,000p/a

JOB SPECIFICATION:

• Extensive experience in a project procurement or manufacturing buying role.
• Formal qualification in MCIPS advantageous but not essential.
• Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment.
• Proven experience of working with complex supplier management, delivering continuous cost and lead time reduction.
• Extensive experience of delivering complex engineering / manufacturing projects on time and under budget.
• Proven experience of supplier selection, supplier management, and international sourcing and supplier development.
• Understanding of engineering and manufacturing techniques, standards and the ability to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to manage demanding workload with multiple conflicting and changeable priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Focus to drive on-time delivery with a strong desire to succeed.
• Experience of working autonomously and confident in decision making.
• Full UK driving license. Ability and willingness to travel.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

THE KEY PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE:

• Lead, manage and be wholly responsible for business-critical, complex purchasing assignments with limited supervision from cradle to grave.
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies in alignment with corporate-led operational strategies and as directed by the company's UK Supply Chain Manager.
• Assure compliance with and actively enforce sourcing policies to meet or exceed business targets and customer needs.
