HRGO Education are recruiting for a qualified Special needs Teacher to start immediately at a school situated in the Felixstowe area

The School is situated on the beautiful Suffolk coast; a fantastic place to live and work, a reasonable travelling distance from London, Cambridge and Norwich. They are a inclusive 11-18 Academy. The School has a new state of the art building equipped with a 'super-lab', a number of multi-purpose learning spaces, performance spaces which are set in large grounds on the edge. In 2019 the school was recently taken over by a new trust which has already started implementing strategic & exciting ideas. The school is co-educational and teaches KS3,4 & 5 in its sixth form.

Purpose of job

• Lead high quality learning across two access classes (KS3 and KS4) , each of which already has a lead classroom practitioner and allocated learning support assistants, ensuring that a broad and balanced curriculum, meeting the needs of students is planned , resourced and delivered
• Act as an ambassador and role model for high quality teaching of pupils with special educational needs
• Ensure that the provision delivered at least a "Good" educational experience
• Offer support and training to the Access instructors
• Monitor and assess students and in conjunction with SENDCO, plan reintegration to mainstream classes
• Observe students in lessons and offer strategies to support quality first teaching

Ideally you will have:

• A degree / PGCE / NQT status
• UK QTS or working towards UK QTS - NARIC & Overseas QTS will be considered with at least 1 year of UK Teaching experience
• Are confident leading a Key Stage 3 French & Spanish
• Have good behaviour management skills
• Have a genuine passion for teaching children
