We are currently looking for Seed Production Technician for our Broadstairs based client. This position will involve Poly-tunnel and field work to assist with production of commercial seeds, Care of seed crops - cauliflower and other species, Ground preparation, setting up drip irrigation, Crop protection - spraying seed crops and research plants using knapsack or barrow sprayers, herbicide application around the seed production sites, managing maggots and flies used as pollinators on seed and research plants, cleaning and sterilising pots, module trays, tunnels and equipment and keeping crop and temperature records Essential Qualifications: Full driving licence - Must be willing to drive the company vehicle (a manual transmission car) between our three sites and within Thanet PA1 PA6 spraying certificates You will need a good level of numeracy and literacy, be able to cope with working in very hot conditions in tunnels and outside in all weather and be able to bend kneel, lift and carry as there is a lot of manual handling involved in this position.
