School Driver

Are you a semi-retired individual or someone who is missing out on day to day interaction?

Do you have a valid PCV Manual (D or D1) Licence, Driver's CPC?

Do you relate well to children and adults?

We are looking for a School Driver, this is a Permanent part time and term time only position, working Monday-Friday. The working hours are 06.30am to 08.30am or 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

To start 1st September

This position would suit someone semi-retired or someone with mornings and evenings free.

You will be working under the direction of the Estate Manager/PA To Bursar, to safely drive and support the maintenance and cleaning of the school's vehicles to keep them in a good condition.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following list is not exhaustive and should reflect the ethos of the school

To drive pupils to and collect them from pre-arranged pick up points, mornings and afternoons, taking registers of pupils who travel.

When required, to drive pupils and members of staff to games' meetings after school.

When required, to drive pupils and members of staff on School trips.

To ensure the vehicle is not left empty of fuel, is clean and tidy and to report any concerns to the Estate Manager.

Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.

Comply and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health & safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.

Any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Estate Manger/PA to the Bursar

Person Specification

Have a valid PCV Manual (D or D1) Licence, Driver's CPC

Have a full enhanced DBS (Essential) School will apply for this.

Previous experience desired but not essential

Have no more than 3 points on licence

Knowledge/Skills

Ability to work constructively as part of a team.

Ability to relate well to children and to adults, a friendly yet professional and respectful approach which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect.

Good organising and prioritising skills.

Customer focused.

Is committed to the provision and improvement of quality service provision.

In addition to the ability to perform the duties of the post, issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children will need to be demonstrated.

These will include:

Motivation to work with children and young people.

Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.

Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours

Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.

This is a part time position

£10.12 per hour
