Salary: £24k - £26k

Hours: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm

Location: Elsenham

We currently have an exciting opportunity to work with a growing company that is a Specialist in case making, export packaging services and worldwide freight forwarding. The role is to work within a small family run team.

Sales Production Assistant will undertake two complementary roles within the company. The roles include business and customer development, local marketing and production management.

The primary responsibility of the role is to support the production team and assist with sales and marketing strategies to generate new business opportunities from new and existing customers across the company's three north of London locations. The role will work closely with the production teams at the three locations both to secure new business from leads generated and to understand and provide support to the production operation.


* To promote the company and its services to prospective and existing customers
* Develop a new business development plan that identifies prospects for the company's services and sets out a schedule of activity to promote the company in the local market
* Develop a customer development plan, liaising with the relevant production teams, that focuses on existing customers to deepen relationships, increase sales and promote additional services
* Work alongside and collaborate with the production teams and other Managers, including the MD, to arrange sales and customer visits
* To generate new sales opportunities by researching potential clients and pass leads to Production Manager to follow up
* Identify marketing strategies to promote the company
* Understand and develop the local market to identify opportunities to promote the company and meet local prospects and customers. This may include local events and groups such as the Chambers of Commerce
* Use approved business processes and software to maintain customer contact details, history and other information that may be required by the business
* Assist with production planning, prioritising work and using production planning techniques to improve efficiency and to satisfy customer needs
* Contribute to the successful completion of customer projects and tasks, for example work with other members of the team to prepare specific work instructions and cutting lists to meet customer deadlines
* To support the Production teams in constantly seeking ways of improving the service delivered to customers
* Identify, report and manage risks to the business in accordance with the company's quality management system and all relevant legal and statutory requirements
* Administration duties as required


* Previous experience within Administration, Customer Service and Sales with an interest or background in manufacturing
* Previous marketing experience would be highly advantageous
* Confident, comfortable meeting new prospects and being involved in the sales process
* An enthusiastic, self-starter with energy, a desire to learn and interested in developing experience across a range of business disciplines
* Confident in the use of applications including Microsoft Office and CRM
* Must have a willingness to learn and able to retain new information rapidly
* Credible, confident with excellent team working and people skills
* Strong quality and service ethic with a determined customer focus and attention to detail in all aspects of the role
