About the role
There will be an expectation to increase customer acquisition through new and existing markets, contributing to market share growth, give business direction and contribute to the overall performance of the business
The role of the Sales Manager will have full P&L responsibility for implementing sales strategies and corresponding input into business plans to drive growth in sales, profitability, and cash generation.
Part of the role will be to develop the Sales Team (Three staff) in line with business organisational development requirements, particularly regarding capabilities/competencies and values/behaviours.
Responsibilities
Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company's customer base and ensure it's strong presence
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

The ideal person will be able to demonstrate team building, leadership, influencing and empowerment capabilities across the Sales Team and other internal stakeholders, as well as innovative problem-solving, analysis, presentation, and negotiation skills. Thriving in a challenging, result-driven work environment with the ability to contribute and maintain a happy and productive team is key.
External
It is vital that this person can establish and develop strong, long-lasting relationships through strong communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders including new and existing customers, industry bodies, and suppliers. Specific skills such as negotiation, presenting and business contractual conditions are fundamental for this role.
The role will require a highly motivated person with strong customer and market focus and therefore the right attitude is the most important attribute. Coupled with exceptional organisation capabilities the person should have an ability to take on information, appropriately interpret and use in decision making. A sense of awareness, openness, focus on continuous improvement with the ability to look back at achievements are other qualities we are looking for.
Specific Expertise
Significant experience of leading with a Sales Strategy is crucial and it is essential that the person has strong sales experience with a commercial and/or industrial bias. Significant affinity and knowledge of the engineering business-specialised markets, its technologies, services, and products across the range of industry applications is necessary, with nuclear knowledge being an advantage
Qualifications and Experience
Degree level education (or equivalent experience), together with 10 years significant sales management experience in similar roles/industries, with a proven track record of increasing sales.
