HRGO Education are looking for Afternoon & Night Residential Childcare Workers to join our team to help support one of our 4 specialist schools in Attleborough/Wymondham/Diss/Norwich.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.

This is a great opportunity to start or continue your career in care, working as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a setting where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where children and young people are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Our Residential Support Workers carry out an essential and varied role to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. You will help the children with their nightly routine, collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth day to night transition, complete relevant paperwork, deliver personal care, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication.

Previous experience in a care setting would be great but isn't essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. These roles are ideal for people working in customer-facing industries including retail, hospitality, and leisure, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children's lives and futures.

Already qualified to or willing to work towards your NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, able to work the required shifts, and be motivated to provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.

About the sites

The aim of the sites is to provide enough support to unlock each child's potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. Our schools provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. This is achievable due to the dedication and support from a range of employed professionals who are passionate, reliable, and understanding.

These schools have provided care and education to children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.

Qualities and experience we look for:

  • Prior experience working with children or vulnerable adults - perhaps you have worked in schools or a care background before?
  • Qualifications relating to education or medical/care. This could be a manual handling certificate through to a degree in counseling. If you think it could be relevant, we are interested in speaking to you!
  • Had experience with family members who have special education needs or needed special medical support.
  • A passion for education and want the opportunity to make a real difference to a child's life.
