Position: Quality Engineer
Location: Bodelwyddan
Hours: Monday-Friday
Salary: £40,000p/a
Our client is a well established global manufacturer based in North Wales and are currently recruiting Quality Engineer, the ideal candidates will have experience within automotive, aerospace or FMCG.
Duties:
To lead investigation regarding quality issues and monitors the progress on problem solving activities
Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product quality, capacity and fulfilment ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery of components according IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and specific requirements
Drive improvements utilising Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards and own supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver value
Track the supplier's performance indicators, based on their scorecards and rankings, to facilitate and develop the supply base's ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations
Develop positive relationships and work closely with sourcing leaders to manage, implement and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions or transfers
Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery
Assist with new product launch by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved in respect of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Lead the root cause investigation by use of 8D methodology in team with the Supplier technical and quality staff
Publish 8D agreed solutions to the database of lesson learned and propose the standardisation of corrective action as well as the extension to part families
Cooperate in validating the Cost of Poor Quality assessment and participate in costs approval / settlements with Suppliers
Frequent travel to Suppliers
Possible travel to plants across Europe and Headquarters in Italy
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons whilst at work
Co-operate fully with all health and safety instructions and arrangements
Report any health and safety related accidents, incidents or concerns to Supervisors/Management without delay
Skills
Experience in the Quality function of a Tier 1 Company
Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt desirable
IATF16949:2016 certified auditor
IATF16949:2016 core tools certified training
