Quality Engineer

Quality Engineers opportunity available at this expanding Aerospace Precision Engineering company based in Romford. You will be required to provide Quality Assurance support for the business' processes and product, overseeing a wide range of responsibilities such as optimising the quality management process, assisting with critical projects and New Product Introduction and analysing manufacturing data.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record working with Aerospace quality systems and paperwork, who can identify root causes and find ways to correct/prevent these issues, alongside helping the company to improve their KPI's in yield, scrap and productivity. Please note, quality engineers from other manufacturing backgrounds (such as automotive, defence, etc) will be considered.

The responsibilities of the quality engineer include:

Maintaining and developing company process, procedures and policies, keeping standards as high as possible whilst keeping in line with customer and regulatory approvals.

Overseeing an internal audit program to ensure adherence.

Resolving any concerns from customers, suppliers and internal departments using 8D and 5Y.

Managing an effective calibration program, whilst identifying areas to reduce cost and scrap.

Analysing any product verification strategies to make sure new products meet customer and internal requirements, including identifying whether any new measuring equipment is needed.

Using FMEA, MSA and PPAP to support manufacturing plans, aiming to achieve Right First Time.

Managing all the supplier rejections/ corrective actions and reinforcing supplier surveillance activities.

Performing Quality Manager duties when required.

You must be able to display detailed knowledge of the industry quality registration schemes, certification processes (including AS9100 and ISO9001) and problem solving and improvement delivery methods. You will also understand and implement Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma) and FAIRS. Experience with Q-Pulse, Javelin (or other ERP/MRP systems) and Non-destructive testing is desirable for this role.

A degree or HNC within engineering or technical discipline is essential, with preference given to candidates who are Green Belt trained.

We are looking for an individual who is highly-motivated, consistent and organised. You must be able to take ownership of the role, alongside having a customer-focused and problem-solving mindset.
