PURCHASING ASSISTANT

Paying between £20k- £25k, this is a great opportunity for someone who has some basic purchasing / Procurement/ buying experience or who is highly organised with lots of admin and wants to get into the type of work
Role Purpose
To take ownership and be accountable for the purchase order function within the Company. Assist in communications between the Project Team and Finance Team regarding all aspects of purchase orders. To carry out administrative duties as instructed by the Finance Director or the Project Engineering Manager.
Place and maintain purchase requisitions and orders with suppliers as requested.
Be the main point of contact for purchase invoice queries from the Finance Team relating to purchase orders raised.
Ensure that delivery of all purchase orders is followed up and the necessary goods received entries made in Sage 200.
Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates and proactively follow up on missed, late or incomplete deliveries and keep relevant members of the Project Team up to date with any issues.
Enter required goods received entries onto Sage 200 for supplier milestones, once these have been approved by the appropriate Project Manager.
Maintain project folders held on the server in line with procedures.
Provide general administrative assistance to the Project Team as instructed by the Project Engineering Manager.
Develop knowledge of Sage 200 in order to assist with reporting and the analysis requirements of the Project Team.
Maintain supplier details in Sage 200 to ensure these are accurate and up to date.
Obtain feedback from Project Team on completion of each project, to ensure that supplier ratings are up to date; support supplier performance and quality reviews.
Be responsible for checking that meal allowance receipts are provided by all site engineers and following up on any that are missing.
Provide general administrative assistance to the Finance Team as instructed by the Finance Director.

Overview of required qualifications, knowledge, experience, skills and attributes.
Essential:
English and Maths GCSE at Grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent
Good ICT skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated and work productively without constant supervision
Good planning and organisational skills
Ability to manage several tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
The ability to work calmly under pressure
Analytical ability and good attention to detail
Willingness to develop within the role
Desirable:
Previous experience in a similar or related role
Good problem solving skills
Knowledge of Sage 200

Hours are Mon to Thurs 8-5
Friday finish 12.45
