Established Precision Engineering company are looking for a production controller to plan and organise the manufacturing processes of precision manufactured parts for the aerospace and other industries.

You should have experience within a manufacturing environment, so you understand machining and production processes and methods and have an appreciation of deadline requirements and customer demands.

You will be an integral part of the business ensuring product is delivered to customers on time and within budget.

Main duties;

• You will continuously improve the planning, analysing data and report to management and customers updates on the progress of the orders.

• Progress jobs through the workshops ensuring that all production work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner

• Co-ordinate internal resources and progress suppliers.

• Ensure all parts and stock for the production department are ordered and delivered on time

• Oversee the sub-con purchase orders and progress orders with suppliers to ensure the supplier is meeting their delivery targets.

• Organise and monitor key products and track these through their operations.

• Raise purchase orders for processing, paint, and adhesives

• Manage related queries from the shop floor and inspection

• Manage delivery paperwork

• Manage the MRP system

Ideal candidate;

• A strong manufacturing/production background with a minimum of 3 years working in a precision engineering or similar manufacturing company.

• A real passion for Continuous Improvement and lean manufacturing with an understanding of capacity planning.

• Experience of managing sub-con suppliers to meet customer objectives

• Excellent communication and IT skills with the ability to document, plan and develop standard operating procedures for high precision processes.

This position would ideally suit someone who has worked within a similar industry/environment with excellent organisational skills and is familiar with working to tight deadlines.
