Are you looking for a Product Safety & Compliance Engineer role in New Zealand? Would you love the opportunity to be influential at the front end of the design process to ensure products are inherently safe and compliant, enabling them to be sold in a variety of global markets? I'm recruiting for a global company which aims to enhance the quality of people's lives through the development of products tailored to meet customer needs.

About the Company

Built on a heritage of innovation and pioneering spirit, my client is a successful consumer product manufacturing business that's looking to expand its skilled product development team. Offering a collaborative, team-based culture, a challenging but supportive working environment, career development and the opportunity to work with leading technology.

The Role

In this Product Safety & Compliance Engineer role, as well as ensuring products meet safety standards and meet regulatory requirements, you'll be coordinating testing with internal and external test laboratories for a range of appliances. At times you will be expected to lead the internal testing by doing this testing yourself. You'll also be a stickler for ensuring processes are followed and documentation is completed. You'll also find yourself liaising, training and supporting product development and third-party manufacturers and suppliers, as well as being the conduit between these groups and the regulatory authorities and test laboratories.

Skills, experience & attributes

  • Degree in either electrical, mechanical engineering or science and you have been honing your skills for a minimum of ten years

  • Understand that safety and compliance with regulatory requirements is critical, along with an unrivalled ability to interpret these safety and other regulatory requirements

  • You love nothing more than seeing projects through to the end without compromising either your own or the company's standards

  • Naturally organised, thorough, accurate, a stickler for detail

  • Your written and verbal communication skills are second to none as are your excellent reading comprehension skills

  • Knowledge of electrical and gas testing of products would be an advantage

Benefits

A collaborative team-based culture, challenging and supportive work environment, career development and an opportunity to work with leading technology. Also on offer is a competitive salary, superannuation scheme, as well as relocation and immigration assistance (if required).

N.B. To be considered for this role, applicants must possess full and ongoing rights to work in New Zealand
