PRODUCT DESIGNER - TEXTILE & SOFT GOODS

The Role

In this Product Design role, you'll work with various textiles and other materials to create innovative, functional and aesthetically pleasing products for the consumer which are ruggedized and durable. Reporting to the Lead Industrial Designer, you will be part of the research and development team, bringing the soft goods elements of the product portfolio to market. You will need to be confident working autonomously and with a high attention to detail.

Skills and experience

With at least five years' experience working within commercial product design, you'll have the following:

* Degree in Industrial Design, fashion, textiles or equivalent

* Ability to sketch, conceptualise designs in 2D/3D and create mock-ups and prototypes by sewing and basic pattern making

* Understanding of basic material characteristics and suitability, including dying and printing, production line processes, QA

* High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (CS 6 - Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)

* Creative, conceptual approach to design process

* Understanding of manufacturing offshore, experience with China is favourable

* High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (CS 6 - Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)

* Proven experience in designing products, collections, trend forecasting, creating specification packs for suppliers
