HR GO Recruitment are currently assisting a local firm in their search for a procurement specialist. This company are pioneers in their industry as well as having a presence which is felt throughout the world. The main focus of this role will be to manage all aspects of purchasing in a cost-effective way, aligning with the operational activities of the company.
Main responsibilities:
Implement procurement policies, procedures and best practices in accordance with compliance with local, national and global ethics.
Managing vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity, environmental and reliability when identifying and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
Evaluate contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organisational policies
Managing risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases
Generate, develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Ensure the stock values are kept within agreed boundaries
The ideal candidate:
Educated to degree level in a Supply Chain Management or related discipline
Must have a CIPS Qualification
Able to comprehend and express ideas accurately and persuasively both orally and in writing
The ability and drive for achieving and surpassing targets against internal or external standards of excellence
The ability to persuade, influence and explore positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that will gain acceptance of all parties involved
Ability to work as part of a cohesive and performance driven team
This is a full-time permanent position, the hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5pm. This role will involve regular overseas travel.
