Job Title: Processing Plant Supervisor
Location: Ashford
Pay Rate: £15p/h - £18p/h based on experience
Hours: The plant is moving to a double shift pattern on an alternating basis:
1. 0700 / 0730 to 1700 Monday to Friday and 0700 to 1200 Saturday
2. 1630 to 0130 Monday to Friday
HR GO Recruitment are looking for a Processing Plant Supervisor for a UK Leading car breaker.
Responsibilities:
Manage plant staff on a day-to-day basis.
Coordinate feed stock movements in and out of the site daily and working in coordination with the metal processing side of the site through the weighbridge operations.
Ensure all site staff are fully trained and competent in their respective roles to operate the plant effectively and safely and where necessary give advice of additional training needs.
Manage the plant stock and ensure processed material is loaded out in a timely manner.
Ensure that all of the necessary processing plant machinery and supporting equipment is checked daily via the daily defect reporting system to ensure they are safe to operate.
Manage and program all necessary planned and unplanned maintenance of the processing plant and supporting equipment.
Responsible for the day to day Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality process and procedures of the processing plant.
Drive improvement(s) and assist in implementing best practice of the processing plant and in coordination with day to day activities of the metal processing side of the site.
Ensure that the processing plant production is maximized.
Complete stock takes (audits) as required by the Board of Directors.
Ensure processing plant operates in a financially positive manner.
Areas of particular attention:
Ensure all process and procedures are adhered to and that a high level of health and safety and housekeeping is maintained across the site.
The effective day to day management of the processing plant to ensure maximum effective output.
Have a strong continuous improvement attitude and encourage effective production of the processing plant team.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills:
Essential:
Formal health & safety training - NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupation Safety and Health or willing to work towards.
Managerial or supervisor experience.
Team management and leadership.
Desirable:
Experience of operating heavy plant would be an advantage but not essential.
Heavy plant & engineering background.
Previous experience within the metal recycling industry.
Forklift Truck experience and qualification.
