HRGO / Airport Placements are actively seeking trustworthy, determined and respectful candidates to ensure that the best possible experience is delivered for reduced mobility passengers at Manchester Airport. Candidates are reminded the Airport is a 24hour operation. The earliest start time is 4am and the latest start time is 10pm. You must be prepared to work at any time. The shift pattern is typically 4 on, 2 off or 5 on, 3 off - weekend work is included. Having your own car would be advantageous. The Role You will be going through the full Airport experience with each passenger you are assigned to. The passengers you will be engaging with have reduced mobility and require wheelchair assistance. You will be responsible to assist these passengers through the airport. This involves; greeting passengers and their family in the check-in of the Terminal, ensure they have all their belongings with them and the correct documentation, take the passengers to drop off luggage & check-in for their flight, take them through security and in to the departures lounge until they are able to board their flight. Once the passenger is safely aboard, you will return the wheelchair to the check-in desk of departures, where you will greet your next passenger. You will be the face of the company and welcome customers from around the globe, so you'll need to be respectful and able to appreciate, embrace diversity as well as striving to achieve; * Improve the passenger's experience * Enable more passengers with disabilities to use air travel * Ensure on-time performance (OTP) for airlines This position is temporary but there may be potential temp to perm for some candidates. To succeed in the role you will need to undergo and pass training, be flexible with your approach to each individual person's needs and a passion for delivering truly world class customer service: as customers are at the heart of everything we do. You should be able remain calm, polite and professional at all times given that you may have been on your feet for most of your shift. Previous experience in a customer facing role or care worker would be an advantage although full training will be given. You must be 18 or over, have valid photo ID and birth certificate, be able to provide full details of your employment/education history for the past 5 years. You will be required to obtain a basic DBS check with a clear record. You must be helpful and co-operative in helping our referencing team obtain your references to quicken the process. Any official name change must be supported with documentation.
