HR GO are looking to recruit a Planner on a permanent basis for their prestigious client based in the Glasgow area.
Job Purpose
The Planner must ensure the operational coordination of an order from registering the job, following good production planning practice, and exchange with the customers to ensure delivery of goods on time in full. Develop weekly production schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Check material availability ensuring all components are available for production requirements. Communicate with the production team on customer requirements and material availability advising of any changes that will affect production.
Main Activity
Sales Administration
Processing of orders from registration to shipment
Liaise with project team to be able to raise purchase orders for materials required
Record orders and process sales orders
Create delivery notes to trigger invoicing including any ancillary services
Report and communicate regularly with the customer regarding order and delivery updates
Scheduling and Planning
Planning of production in line with customer requirements and expectations
Development of production orders
Material ordering and schedule deliveries (incoming and outgoing)
Understand if there are constraints on production machines
Communicate all relevant information with Development and Production teams
Plan production rates, machines, any time movements if necessary and validate this with the Production Manager
Work on production schedules to optimise and confirm labour utilisation with Production Manager
Management of Stock and Finished Goods
Co-ordinate and manage deliveries of incoming goods, communicating regularly with suppliers
Co-ordinate and manage deliveries of finished goods, communicating regularly with customer
Manage the quantities of finished goods delivered
Communicate and co-ordinate goods to be delivered to external storage
Organise transport to meet customer delivery deadlines
Prepare delivery notes and has them validated to ensure delivery is correct for transporting
Manage the documents that are necessary for transport
Participate in updates of stock and inventories
Production Management
Support production and logistic to create, modify, or update the production orders
Communication regularly with Production Manager informing of any changes to the plan
Understand machine constraints and where it may impact customer requirements
Supply
Manage delivery of incoming materials to meet production schedule, and in cases of delays, schedule the changes and advise customer or production where necessary
Inform suppliers of any change to plan to allow necessary arrangements to be made
Operational Management
Co-ordinate with logistics and update incoming / outgoing shipments on the calendar
Manage logistics process between material supplier, site, and customer
Manage relations with external partners specific to its activity including carriers
Comply with quality and environmental rules in line with company and customer expectations
Manage own time, means, and methods to achieve objectives
Report to line manager on a regular basis
Quality
Ensure compliance in line with the customers logistic requirements and specifications by requesting all the necessary information from the customer
Communication of clear information to all relevant departments (internal and external)
