Job Role: Outreach Therapeutic Learning Support Assistant - KS3

Teachright Kent are in search of an experienced Outreach Therapeutic Learning Support Assistant to provide therapeutic, nurturing support to KS3 pupils.

Teachright Kent are recruiting for a progressive SEMH school based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They are seeking an experienced Outreach Therapeutic Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with SEMH and challenging behaviours.

The Tunbridge Wells school was rated "Good" by Ofsted and are well resourced to support the additional needs of their young people. You will work in partnership with colleagues and other professionals to deliver a broad and balanced therapeutic curriculum. You will understand that the pupil's behaviour is a form of communication and interventions will focus on supporting the social, emotional and sensory needs of the pupils. You will need your own transport as the role will include some outreach work at different locations.

The school is located near the centre of Tunbridge Wells, and is accessible by bus or car. There is on-site parking is available for staff.

The Outreach Therapeutic Learning Support Assistant role:

• Providing therapeutic support to pupils in KS3 with a focus on communication and emotional regulation
• Being a positive role model and establishing positive relationships with pupils and helping to develop their social skills.
• Working well with other members of school staff to provide a stimulating learning environment.

What you will need:

• Previous experience providing therapeutic interventions such as Sensory circuits and nurture games,
• Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour.
• Your own transport for outreach work.
• Enhanced DBS or one in progress.
