NIGHTS - Baler Operative 18:30 - 04.30

Overall purpose of the role

• Job function: Operation of the Machinex baling operation machinery - baler/wrapper/strapper within the MRF baling operation. Will include general cleaning & upkeep of the process, liaising with key individuals and completion of written production records using written records & spreadsheets

• Core hours: Monday to Friday 18.30 PM - 04.30AM

• BASIC PAY £11.22 PER HOUR

• NIGHT SHIFT ALLOWANCE £20.00 PER NIGHT WORKED

Main responsibilities

• Operation of the Machinex baler, Crosswrap and Strapping machinery to required standards

• Cleaning and general maintenance of machines and associated work areas

• Housekeeping of operating areas

• Liaising with INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL technicians

• Enforcing PPE requirements with all delivery and collection drivers, maintenance technicians, and employees

• Reporting of incidents and near misses as per company policy

• To work a standard 9.5-hour day, Mon to Fri, excluding a 30min unpaid break

• To work above and beyond on occasion when the situation requires it

• To achieve competency in the operation of the Machinex baling machinery

• To undertake Teletruck mobile plant training at a later date if required by site management

• To completing production/downtime records to required standards using Microsoft Excel

• Carrying out safety checks and reporting/recording defects

• Regulating product quality and maintaining stock levels / machine consumables

• Observing correct health & safety requirements

• Other work-related tasks as instructed by team leaders/supervisors
