Mobile Testing Unit - Site Manager
£17.85 per hour
This is a senior management position in charge of a COVID - 19 Testing Centre (Mobile Testing Unit) required by Department of Health and Social Care.
Shift Time: 7am - 5pm but can be up to 9pm on special surge testing operations
4 days on 4 days off (including weekends)
You will need to carry out a full DBS check for this role
Requirements for the role
Full, clean driving licence. Required to drive between sites.
Successful candidate must have previous managerial experience to be consider for the role as you will be managing a team of 10 at both MTU sites and prison sites.-Ex-military or emergency service experience - highly desirable.
Excellent customer service experience face to face is essential.
This position is based outside and is a physically demanding role - you must be happy to stand outside in all weather conditions for 10 hours a day.
People
Recruit, lead and motivate teams, ensuring performance is managed, people are adequately inducted and trained in terms of achieving the required standards of performance and that staff engagement, reward and recognition is prioritised, whilst adhering to the clients Ops Manual at all times.
Staff Management - keeping to stated site manning levels
● Manage performance monitoring utilising management information data to track and report as required.
Safety
● To ensure that safe working practices are implemented, monitored, and adhered to at all times in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental policy requirements, including the identification of First Aiders and First Aid Equipment on the MTU.
● To monitor and ensure the safety, well-being and appropriate welfare provision to all onsite employees, sub-contractors, partners, and members of the public.
Customer
● Deliver a strong customer focused partnership approach to ensure that everyone who passes through the testing centre has a positive experience.
Cost
● Responsible for the planning and effective delivery of all services to meet all contractual requirements.
● Encourage and drive innovation and continuous improvements: challenge existing processes, suggest new approaches to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of processes, actively encouraging and supporting creativity from team.
Operations
● To be accountable for the overall responsibility of running the MTU
● Responsible for the working partnership with the parent RTS
● Daily briefings and debriefings with staff and senior management
● Ensuring all vehicles are cleaned, sanitised, and restocked daily
● Ensuring all mobile sites are left in a clean and tidy condition at the end of each working day.
● Accurately recording test information and scanning tests to be returned to the laboratory for analysis.
● Have a good understanding of COVID-19 Test and Trace compliance with procedures, systems, and safety
● Clear communication to the public who are testing - offering direction on how to use the kits with an empathetic approach.
● Undertake training on hand washing and ensure personal hygiene is maintained to a high level and to ensure correct PPE is always worn.
Facilities
● Accountable for ensuring MTU's are fully stocked with PPE and Test Kits
● All necessary electrical equipment set up for recharging in readiness for the next day/shift use.
● Ensure logbooks and other onsite documentation are up to date and statutory compliant - both Fleet and General.
People
