Position: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Wirral

Hours: Monday-Friday (days)

Salary: £ NEG / DOE

Our client is a forward-thinking construction manufacturing company who are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their well-established team. The ideal candidate will be focused on Preventative Maintenance and Continuous Improvements, Mechanical biased with knowledge of PLC's would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all manufacturing equipment is maintained to correct standards

• Applying lean methodology to improve autonomous and planned maintenance processes

• Responding to, reporting and resolution of manufacturing breakdowns with root cause analysis

• Maintaining and monitoring of Preventative Maintenance schedule within the Manufacturing Enterprise System

• Driving continuous improvements to machinery and processes to improve performance and safety

• Excellent technical skills complimenting a planned and structured approach to all maintenance activities

• Experience of machinery installation and commissioning processes

• Proficient and experienced with installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Supporting the implementation of new design / prototype machines and systems from conception

• Experience of working within ISO systems and relevant documentation

• Supervision of contractors working on and off site

International travel will be required for installation and commissioning new factories. Maximum 5 to 8 weeks per year (maximum per trip is estimated 2 weeks).

Qualifications / Experience:

• Minimum HNC / HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering with significant demonstrable experience

• Experience with PLC's would be beneficial along with a degree of electrical multi-skilling

• Experience in project management preferred but not essential

• Experience working in, and supporting multi-discipline engineering departments

• Experience in steel fabrication and / or within the construction materials industry preferred
