Mechanical Design Engineer Full time 37.5 hrs per week Location St. Ives Salary up to 35K * Familiar with Solidworks: creating parts assemblies and drawings for manufacturing. * Ability to take a design concept and realise it. This may require design input, implementation suggestions and generate contribution towards a successful design. * Manage the quotation, process (for metalwork) includes discussion with suppliers on manufacturing optimisation. * Liaise with parts suppliers (machine shops) to source parts in a timely and cost-effective manner. * Update current CS drawings into solid models. * Perform the initial entry of parts, components and assemblies to the STORED system. * Generate and maintain the BOMs (aid in the same for other products). * An understanding of pneumatics, mechanical systems and electrical system integration. * Can perform installation and servicing duties in-house and on-site both in the UK and internationally. * Has an awareness of the market in which we operate and a familiarity with our customer base to contribute to the sales and marketing knowledge base (can identify customer requirements when on a visit) * Can build prototype systems, write evaluation test plans and execute them. * Can build and test Dynascan products (line items and custom systems). * Aid in the writing of assembly specifications and test plans. * Aid in the writing an maintenance of user documentation (manuals). * Can undertake validation protocols (IQ / OQ) on a customer site. * Be a customer facing representative. * Can aid our sale force in demonstrations (on or off site). * Undertake customer support and training of products.
