Assistant Chief Maintenance Engineer: Assistant Chief Engineer needed in West Sussex, £30,000-£34,000. Previous experience working in a hotel is essential. Purpose of Job: To manage all functions within the Engineering Department to ensure that the property is maintained and kept in a high state of repair always. Whilst also ensuring that all Health & Safety measures are in place and adhered to within the job responsibility. Key Responsibilities: * Participate in all engineering / maintenance activities such as installing, repairing, maintaining and operating machinery and plant equipment to the required company standard. * Participate in a Planned Maintenance regime to all areas of the hotel to include main plant, public areas and guest bedrooms daily. * Update record sheets and logs resulting from Planned Preventive Maintenance practises * Well conversant with statutory requirements governing Asbestos, Health & Safety. * Fully conversant with ISO 14001 and 18001 policies and procedures * Prepare energy management programme by establishing energy reduction objectives, maintenance records. * Repair and Maintenance response times necessary to ensure customer satisfaction * Preventative Maintenance Programmes to achieve consistent high level of customer satisfaction * Correct application of planning and organising to provide a consistent high level of service * The importance of building, maintenance and repair techniques increasing guest satisfaction in meeting and event areas * New programme development from the idea-stage to implementation and monitoring * Standards and local legislation within the guest and non-guest areas in the hotel * Refurbishment of public areas, bedrooms, mechanical and electrical plant. * Communicate with Corporate and Regional Repair and Maintenance support * Member of the Executive Team and participation in other department meetings and Hotel Forums * Liaise with outside contractors and suppliers with the support of Cluster Engineering Administrator * Provide pro-active and reactive maintenance cover and to assist other team members in emergency as and when required About you: * Minimum 5 years straight employment in chosen field after graduation, prior to any change in career * Demonstrate a positive natural progression in career path with a minimum of 5 years in supervisory roles and positions * Held the position of Senior Supervisor/ Shift Engineer for minimum 5-10 years * Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is a must * Must have the related Certification for Diploma If this is something that you feel you would excel in, please contact aaron.west@hrgo.com or alternatively call 01293 530053
