Job Role: Learning Support Assistant (ASD/SEND)

Location - Margate, Thanet, Kent

Teachright Kent are in search of a full-time Learning Support Assistant that can support a KS4 pupil with mild Autism (ASD/SEND) in the classroom.

Teachright Kent are recruiting for a progressive "Nurture school" based in Margate, Kent. They are seeking an immediate Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with additional learning needs (ASD/SEND)

You will be supporting a 15-year-old (male) pupil with their learning and managing their emotions/behaviour throughout the school day. The role is full-time, and you will be working alongside class teachers and other Learning Support Assistants in small classes of 5 pupils.

The school was rated "Good" by Ofsted and are well resourced to support the additional needs of their young people. The school supports both their young people's learning and social development. There is on-site parking. The school is located close the surrounding areas of Broadstairs, Westgate, Ramsgate and Canterbury.

The Learning Support Assistant role:

• Using effective behaviour/nurture skills to support the pupils and ensure academic progress
• Being a positive role model, establishing positive relationships with pupils and helping to develop their academic and social skills
• Working well with teachers and other support staff to provide a stimulating learning environment

What you will need:

• Previous SEND Learning Support experience
• Confident at working 1:1 with pupils with a therapeutic and nurturing support style
• Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour
• Enhanced DBS or one in progress.
