We are looking for a Junior Technical Sales Engineer to join the team

This is a great opportunity of you have an interest in engineering or manufacturing but also like talking to people and building relationships

£18k, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm 12.45 finish on a Friday

Role

Assist the Technical Sales Team with all requests for quotations, user requirement specifications, tenders and the preparation of technically and commercially compliant quotation documents. In conjunction with the Technical Sales Manager, develop technical knowledge and sales experience to provide consultancy, support and expert advice to our customers. Role predominately based at our offices in Somerset, with occasional travel throughout the UK.

Accountabilities

  • Assist in generating and qualifying new sales leads.

  • Participate in bid reviews and develop the skills to accurately interpret customer requirements.

  • Develop, under supervision, the ability to handle incoming sales enquiries, organise sales visits and conduct site surveys to establish key aspects of customers' requirements.

  • Build up the knowledge to provide pre-sales technical assistance to Technical Sales Manager.

  • Work with technical sales and design team to ensure the timely preparation of comprehensive sales quotations; ensuring that by point of order the level of detail within quotations enables effective transition to delivery.

  • Learn to liaise with customers throughout project cycle when requested by senior sales team members and develop long term relationships.

  • Learn to negotiate pricing and terms with customers and suppliers as instructed by senior sales team, ensuring that both are within the agreed sales strategy.

  • Take part in sales to project handover meetings ensuring that customer expectations are aligned.

  • Develop skills to actively seek sales and marketing opportunities, assisting with case studies, newsletters and press releases as required.

  • Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the CRM system.

  • Attend relevant trade shows, exhibitions and conferences.

  • Learn to identify opportunities through enquiries and orders to upsell parts and service.

Essential:

Willingness to be trained

Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skill

Good IT skills

Competent with MS Office suite

Self-driven, motivated and forward thinking
