EMEA Junior Buyer - Junior Engineering Buyer - Developing Procurement Buyer - Assistant Purchaser

Our client a leading world wide manufacturing business are recruiting for a developing Procurement Buyer or Junior Buyer. Applicants need a element of procurement experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment and must be MRP/ERP literate

This may offer the next step up for a Team Procurement Buyer / Junior Buyer will be responsible for assisting the sourcing and supplier management of assigned categories, most likely mechanically engineered products and manufacturing services. The role will entail a blend of operational (around MRP / SAP ) - such as scheduling/ re-scheduling of orders, supplier development and negotiations.

Working in their buying team, the main function is to place and expedite purchase orders to meet production requirements in the UK manufacturing facility based on the Herts / Essex border just off the M11 motorway .

Specific duties of the job-holder will include:

• Creation and placement of purchase orders to meet demand for our production facility

• Scheduling of purchase orders and delivery schedules as demand dictates

• Maintenance of all purchased cost transactions

• Obtain quotations through tendering ,terms of spend, billing, delivery and after sales support

• Management of supplier performance

• Resolving invoice queries with suppliers and finance

• Maintenance and filing (electronic) of all relevant purchasing and regulatory documents

• Provide professional support to our procurement team for all purchasing related matters

Experience within elements of Buyer, , Category Buyer or Strategic Buyer within manufacturing or engineering would be advantageous but a desire to learn and progress within the position .

MRP/ERP literate and ability to use data to drive decision making
Capable of working under-pressure in a fast-paced environment perhaps knowledge of knowledge of ISO9001 A level of CIPS membership or other professional qualification or education equivalent again is advantageous
