Our client is looking to recruit an Interim Estates Surveyor.
Job purpose
Estate management of a leisure estate, monitoring tenant obligations under the leases and funding agreements, overseeing insurance, vacant property, maintenance, compliance, project, rents and viewings for the estate.
Also to support the head of service with the rationalisation programme including processing approved disposals through the agreed framework, liaising with solicitors, CPSEs, fee invoices, overseeing handover through to the completed disposal.
Roles and responsibilities
* Lead on the landlord and tenant role for the leisure estate including processing lettings, monitoring contractual obligations, budget monitoring, making recommendations to the head of service.
* Monitoring funding obligations, monitoring the budget, ensuring expenditure is undertaken with capital funding officer approval, ensuring adherence to public procurement rules
* Ensuring lease and rent information on the database remains current and available for the asset management team
* Ensure suitable vacant property call out process for out of hours (through facilities team), conduct viewings, ensure information is handed to facilities in terms of meters.
* Inspections including reports for site risk assessment and maintenance, highlighting areas requiring action, making recommendations to the head of service.
* Drive the approved disposals through to completion
Experience and qualifications
* Working knowledge of local authority property and procurement laws, rules and regulations
* Understanding of leisure industry
* Chartered surveyor
* Estate management
* Commercial property environment
* Local authority of private practice surveying
