Insurance Sales Manager

We are looking for candidates who have strong sales experience, it is essential they have experience in Commercial Insurance/have a solid understanding of insurance principles. If you have experience selling software into insurance companies this would be a massive plus.

Role Description:

Securing new business from new clients, the individual will need to formulate propositions taking into account diverse and complex elements, including the consideration of different partner strategies. Work closely, alongside the Group Account Managers to seek out cross selling opportunities for existing clients.

Key Accountabilities:

To secure new business.

To identify cross selling opportunities from existing partnerships, across all business and product lines.

o ensure business written meets profit requirements through the use of, and fully understanding, financial models and expense control

Assist in negotiations, including, commercial terms, pricing reviews, operating models and legal contracts

Delivery of presentations.

Responsibility for Tender documents both insurance and non-insurance, incorporating new technologies.

Assist with managing claim's relationships within the marketplace ensuring we maintain/lead our allocation, status and presence.

Ability to formulate management information to drive sales and understand data.

To be involved in setting strategy and direction for development of allocated clients, or new business.

Other accountabilities:

  • Co-ordinate surge/event management with clients as necessary.

  • Monitor all complaints and actively become responsible for resolution if any issue escalates to management level.

  • Actively manage existing client accounts as required.

  • Monitor aged debt and ensure levels kept within tolerances for existing clients, where required to assist.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive and proven successful sales experience, including market knowledge.

  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance / claim's management arena.

  • Ability to emotionally engage with clients to resolve issues, including great negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build excellent relationships with customers, setting accurate expectations and handling difficult situations.

  • Develop budgets

Core Competencies:

Full understanding of insurance market (our target audience)

In depth knowledge of claim processes and their relationship with customer's core products

Understanding of operational requirements to deliver to commercial/contractual agreement, including, resource requirements, IT delivery and associated processes

Financial awareness

Must have presence and impact up to large corporation board level

Broad commercial acumen

Strong leadership and directional capabilities

Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of the Sales & Account Management team
