Role
To support the Management Systems Manager. Assist with the development, implementation and management of policies relating to staff welfare and their effectiveness. Work closely with the recruitment, training and development of all staff. Carry out administrative tasks as required.
Accountabilities
Liaise and work with the Management Systems Manager and other parties.
Support the Management Systems Manager when advising management and staff on a wide range of HR related matters including all aspects of current employment law and the use of internal employment documents, policies and procedures.
Work closely with the Management Systems Manager to ensure the long-term introduction of all business improvements relevant to the recruitment and retention of staff.
Assist and encourage our apprentices, provide support for them where necessary and look after their well being. Liaise with chosen training provider to ensure that all criteria are met and the progress of individuals is regularly assessed.
Monitor personal files, appraisals, recruitment and training ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly. Carry out inductions for new employees ensuring references are taken up and all relevant paperwork is raised and filed.
Issue EH&S paperwork for sub-contractors when required.
Oversee the ordering of work wear and maintain spreadsheet, ensure that correct deductions are made from salaries.
Maintain the H&S Training Matrix and update as required in line with health and safety policies and personal development. Ensure all personnel have up to date training plans and any shortfalls are addressed. Source and book training courses as required, inform all parties and ensure programme is updated. Assist with the provision of funding predictions to be submitted annually to the Finance Director.
Develop and maintain a personal development programme. Bid for funding and consider future requirements.
Essential:
English and Maths GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent
Good ICT skills
Good planning and organisational skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Have a good understanding of essential health and safety requirements
Ability to manage several tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
Be hard working and conscientious with the ability to motivate and support
The ability to work calmly under pressure
Show good initiative, be enthusiastic, self-motivated and lead by example
Good attention to detail
Hold a valid driving licence
