HRGO Driving are currently seeking HGV class 1 drivers who have a keen interest in working for Waitrose in Aylesford!
Drivers are expected to complete 1-3 drops per day, mainly delivering to supermarkets. When they arrive to the supermarket, they are required to reverse the vehicle into the loading bay, and enter their trailer and drag the cages/rollers to the front of the trailer so that the supermarket staff can manoeuvre them to where they need to be.
Other duties may simply involve a trailer swap at an RDC, and return to the depot, or collecting farm produce from a farm and returning the stock back to the depot.
Delivery locations will include Kent, South East London, Essex and Ipswich.
Monday-Friday: AM (03:00-11:59) - £12.00 per hour
Monday-Friday: PM (12:00-17:59) - £13.00 per hour
Monday-Friday: Nights (18:00-02:59) - £14.00 per hour
Saturday: £15.00 per hour
Sunday & Bank Holiday: £18.00 per hour
Monday-Friday: AM (03:00-11:59) - £14.00 per hour
Monday-Friday: PM (12:00-17:59) - £15.00 per hour
Monday-Friday: Nights (18:00-02:59) - £16.00 per hour
Saturday: £17.50 per hour
Sunday & Bank Holiday: £20.50 per hour
Driving licence stipulations:
* Drivers must have held their C+E entitlement for a minimum of 1 year
* No more than 6 points on their licence
* No DD's/DR's
* 18+ years old
Before candidates commence work at the site, you will require an assessment.
The assessment will involve the candidate completing a standard run to a delivery location.
You will be assessed from the moment you reach your vehicle.
The assessment should be treated with the same professionalism as you would on your driving test.
The driving assessment lasts on average around 2 hours.
You will then be required to complete a tacho test, and safe systems at work/health and safety procedures, this section will take between 6-8 hours.
Waitrose aim to complete this all in 1 day.
Main reasons for assessment failure:
* Reversing (please be aware that some of the delivery points can be very tight)
* Curb Mounting
* Lackadaisical vehicle checks
* Poor knowledge of working time hours
