About the Role Due to growth, they are looking for a Divisional Health and Safety Manager for the Northern Ireland business. This key role will assist the Directors in ensuring compliance with responsibilities under all relevant Health and Safety Legislation. The role requires an individual with the drive to enhance and develop the culture of health and safety management ensuring our processes and systems are aligned with current legislation and best practice. The role will include induction of new staff in occupational health and safety, preparation of Risk Assessments/Safe Systems of Work, liaising with internal Consulting and Group H&S staff, organising training, liaising with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance, investigating near miss/accidents on site and documenting reports and recommendations. You will be responsible for undertaking audits of site activities ensuring that policies and procedures are being adhered to as well as managing/auditing delivery of services under CDM Regulations/Construction Safety & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. You will organise and support all internal and external H&S audits and coordinate H&S professional services across the NI business. As well as being a member of the Health and Safety Committee you will liaise with Health & Well Being Committee too. Engagement with Business Systems Manager and IMS Manager is required to ensure compliance with IMS Policies and Procedures. About You Suitable candidates will have a degree in Civil Engineering or relevant Construction Discipline, be NEBOSH qualified (preferably Diploma) and possess a minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction industry, at least 5 years of which will have been successfully delivering a relevant Health and Safety role. Management experience is also required. Their Northern Ireland Office, situated in Belfast, employs over 200 staff and has been providing services to the UK and Ireland for the past 70 years.
