Head of Engineering - Aircraft Interiors

Opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Interiors Engineer to take a highly strategic, key leadership role with a successful Aircraft Interiors MRO, Component Design and on wing maintenance company. Providing clear leadership, you will be taking overall accountability for the engineering function across their 7 UK locations and playing a pivotal role as part of the management team determining all business decisions. You will need to fully utilise your experience with part 21G, proven management experience and excellent commercial awareness in fulfilling the key aspects of this senior engineering role, which include activities such as:

• Creation and implementation of engineering strategies, policies and procedures to optimise business performance

• Utilisation of financial and budgetary acuity to set and deliver targets which ensure the company remains competitive

• Identification, evaluation and implementation of strategies to reduce risk and exploit business development opportunities

• Provide dynamic leadership and mentoring to the engineering teams, ensuring their ongoing development and high standards of performance

• Resource allocation and management, including safe procedures for external contractor engagement, appropriate documentation and storage, maintenance of drawings, establishing quality standards

• Multi-disciplinary working to ensure budgetary and time constraints are met whilst upholding quality and customer service

• Accurate and timely reporting of all engineering activities to senior management team

• Liaising with clients, teams, contractors and engineering team to ensure all targets are met.

• Supporting the sales team with product specification and quotation activities

Candidates should have an Engineering degree or equivalent, recognised management qualification and experience working with lean principles.
