Our world wide atrading client is a engineering manufacturer with logistics warehouse and sales support offices all within its large UK factory site base.

They are currently seeking a general handy-person all round trade maintenance to carry out a variety of on site tasks such as general maintenance and repair to buildings and equipment, waste management, general cleaning and clearing of site, carrying out selected site and safety audits as instructed.

Performing daily/weekly/monthly general tasks

• Removal or general waste streams around the facility

• Performing basic maintenance and repairs, such as clearing or cleaning of general areas such as car park and footpaths, putting up notice boards, TV monitors, painting, jet washing etc., or any other tasks required.

• Undertaking light assembly duties (e.g., building cabinets, desks, assembling chairs etc.)

• Assisting contractors and tradespeople as required

• Performing tasks as assigned or emergency tasks (cleaning up spillages, flooding, snow removal etc.)

• Identifying and reporting the need for repairs including any safety or operational issues.

• Observing external work performed by contractors or third parties and facilitating access to working areas

• Moving/transporting equipment and supplies in /around building(s) and grounds

Requirements and skills

• Experience with hand tools

• Good communication skills

• Ability to resolve problems and adhere to health and safety guidelines

• Ability to work and manage external contractors or maintenance workers

• Being resourceful and self-motivated

• Physically strong - capable of all round manual work and working with machinery (floor cleaning machine, jet wash, grinder, drills, chainsaws etc.)

• Able to work alone or as part of a team

• Basic use of Outlook, Excel, Word etc. for audit purpose call us to discuss further

• Basic Maths and English

• Fork truck license an advantage but not a requiremennt
