Position: Forklift Service Engineer
Location: Wirral
Hours: 40-45 Hrs per week Normal working hours are 7.00am-16.00pm Monday-Friday with a weekend cover requirement every 4-5 weeks (2 days off during the week when covering at weekend)
Salary: £NEG DOE (based on 45 hr working week)
Due to growth and expansion my client is currently seeking a Permanent Forklift Maintenance Engineer to join a busy Warehouse/Distribution team situated on the Wirral.
Key Responsibilities
As a Forklift Engineer you will service, maintain, and repair materials handling equipment throughout the site. You will act as a key member of the team by keeping our client's forklifts in smooth working order.
You will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Performing repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance of customer materials handling equipment
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault diagnosis carrying out subsequent repairs in a time and cost-effective manner
Liaison with the parts department to ensure appropriate stock levels are held
Completion of documentation to company standards
Skills and Experience
To be considered for the role of Forklift Engineer ideally you will have worked with material handling products before. To maintain our machines, candidates require a working knowledge and some practical experience of most of the following disciplines:
Experience of working on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains etc.)
Electrical drive and control systems
Diesel and LPG engines and common drive-trains
Hydraulics
Some computer/electronic based diagnostic experience would be considered an advantage
