Floating Legal Secretary

My client is a local firm of solicitors owned and managed by people at the very centre of their community. They are lucky enough to get on with each other, their Clients and their business partners extremely well providing a trusted reliable and thoroughly professional service delivered using the most up to date technology

Due to the business growth and demand for their advice and expertise we are recruiting a FLOATING LEGAL SECRETARY

Full Time, 35 Hours per week, Permanent

If you don't have a legal back ground BUT have a medical secretarial back ground then I also want to hear from you

Support staff are highly regarded at this company and we are not looking for someone who is simply a great typist, but an individual who can work on their own initiative and take responsibility for working well with our Clients by getting things done.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Secretary to work across a range of departments and offices in a float capacity. Areas to be covered will include Property, Family, Private Client and Litigation, across multiple offices in Somerset. Wells. Street and Somerton

We are looking for someone who can operate with professionalism and expertise, as you will be liaising with both Clients and other professionals. You will be methodical, organised and very flexible in your approach to work.

You will:

Be responsible for providing full inclusive secretarial support which will include the use of a digital transcription system to create a range of documents in line with our house style, together with the preparation of draft bills and other financial documentation.

You will ensure that client files are both opened and closed and demonstrate effective file management including location and retrieval. You will manage emails and correspondence (internal and external), draft replies to routine correspondence when required and carry out photocopying and scanning of documents. You will be just as happy to undertake an online search as you are talking to Clients over the phone and in person.

About you:

You will have proven secretarial experience within a legal or medical environment, ideally gained within a range of departments. You must be confident to work without direct supervision and be able to demonstrate organisational intelligence and communication skills. You will possess solid Microsoft Office software and formatting skills.

Most importantly you will be a highly flexible person with the ability to take on tasks on a range of matters, keen to provide a high level of professional secretarial support and work with team members to provide Clients with a high standard of service.

Experience with audio tying a must
